Poulton Close (and Queen st)

BMW Import Centre
Whilst not strictly having general public garage facilities, the site at Polton Close was used by BMW for the import of cars to the UK. The imported cars would go through a dewaxing and wash process before preperation and delivery to the distributors.
The centre had its own workshops, who could deal with body/paint, mechanical/electrical issue to correct any faults on the imported cars and to support dealers.
Spare parts were kept and ordered for ditribution to the BMW dealers.

It should be noted that for a period in the early days of BMW at Dover, that they also used a site in Queen st to hold vehicles..... see photo below.
