24 June 1910 (DE) - The Royal Assurance Corporation, through Mr Veron Shone their agent, have met the claim on the fire at the garage in Northampton Street, which occurred on Friday, the 10th inst, though they were under no obligation to do so, the policy not having endorsed with the increased risk
15 July 1910 (DE) - An application for a licence to store petrol in an underground store at the motor garage, Northampton Street, was granted. (NB whilst one cannot assume that this is a commercial premises, to me it does look likely)
2 Nov 1917 (DE) - Mr Tapley, of the Garage, Northampton St, has been the first to introduce to Dover taxi-cabs driven by ordinary gas. The results are said to be excellent, and the engine runs better than with petrol.

25 June 1920 (DE) - a reference in an article ....... Norris Richard Ing, a goods carman, living at 9 Victoria Villas, and employed by the SE & CR, said that on June 2nd he had two parcels to deliver to Mr Tapley, Northampton Street, the Parcel produced was lying on the floor of the van, with another parcel on top of it. He noticed the defendant behind the van as he was coming up Northampton Street. He missed the parcel when he arrived at Mr Tapley's. Mr Connolly; It would have been impossible for the parcel to fall out, even on the most rickety road. .........

1 June 1928 (DE) - Petroleum licences. - The Surveyor reported that there were 49 applications for renewal, but he wished to draw the attention of the council to certain of them. In regard to the Continental Garage, Northampton Street, where 4,000 gallons were stored, a wooden office had been erected over the cover of the store and the filling was done through the wooden partition. It was unsatisfactory and no notice of the alteration was made to him......... (there is then discussion about other garages and applications)..... He recommended that the licences be renewed with the exception of the Continental Garage.......

24 July 1931 (DE) - Permission to erect a projecting sign was granted to the Continental Service Garage, Northampton St, the height to be 10ft instead of the ordinary 8ft, as there was no pavement under.
