1914 Pikes - Barton Nursery, Kemp Bros, florist
1927 - 1949 Pikes - Lewis G & Sons (Dover) Ltd, Builders Yard
1948-9 - before 21 was also listed under garages, service station & taxis as Lewis Bros
This was a bomb site, and was said to have been used after the war as a bus/coach depot and garage.

1949 - purchase of land
1956 - the site was acquired by KCC for future expansion of Barton Road School. In the event of future expansions, this site would allow access and parking.
After the acquisition, it was let on a tenancy to a car repair firm who used the garage building on the site. Interestingly, it is said that the school used part of the site for parking their staff cars.
1961 - Mr Hollands took possession for sale, repair & maintenance of second hand cars.
1965 kellys - Copping & Holland (Fore Garage) (advertised under second hand car dealer)
1966 - is the first mention of Copping & Hollands Ltd, where it was used for sale or breaking of second hand cars.
1967 kellys - Copping & Hollands, second hand car dlr. (Forge garage) (yes Forge not Fore garage)
1967 - the school stopped using the site, they were having problems getting their cars out! and there were issues with the bridge across the river to the site.
1968 - the part of the land that was used by the school was added to the tenancy.
1969 kellys - Copping & Hollands, Fore Garage (advertised under second hand car dealer)
1969-72 (BT) - Forge garage, Tel Dover 2647

1977 a new tenancy was set, at this time it was Mr Hale who was corresponding for Coppin and Holland
1999 an application was made for a residential development on this site.
2003 - all vehicles have been removed from site.
