The garage that we see now, was formed from two older garages, there was a period when both garages existed at the same time.
1914 The Diamond Brewery covered the area of both sites, ie from Maxton Rd, to Maxton Post Office.
1924 Diamond Stores - was the first reference to petrol being in the yard the Diamond Stores.
c1956s Maxton Service station - was starting to be developed
It was much later than this that the two sites were combined into what is now TH Motors.

31 May 1935 Dover Express - FIRE AT MAXTON - There was a serious outbreak of fire on Wednesday at the general shop, off-licence and garage, occupied by Mr David Arnold Ayling, at 375 Folkestone Rd. The building is a brick one of two storeys, about 60ft by 25 feet. The general shop is the front portion of the building and behind are two rooms used as a store and garage. Mr Ayling was in the shop about 11.30 am when he was attracted y the popping of corks, and going into the second room found that smoke was coming through the wooden partition from the room beyond. He found on going to this part of the building that it was in flames. He shut the door and gave the alarm and Mr Geard phoned the Police. The Morris fire engine was sent and within seven minutes was on the spot. Two deliveries of water through six lengths of hose soon got the flames under control and by 12.45 the Police were able to leave. The quickness with which the was dealt prevented a much more serious situation developing, for there is a series of lock garages close by and a petrol store. Practically the whole of the contents of the shop was destroyed or rendered useless. The lower portion of the building was severely damaged and some damage was done to the storey above, part of which is used as a meeting place for Toc H. The building and its contents were insured. The origin of the outbreak is not known.

1990 there was an application for 11 one bed flats for 373, so at this point it was not part of the (now) larger garage, there is reference to this plot being private garage and then later plant hire. My best guess is that at this time The Toyota garage purchased this site, and as can be see later, extended into the area of 373/5.
